Still Confused, but Gimping at least

So, finding good information on what resources our available isn't getting easier.

Killboards are about the only fairly well known solutions with EVSCO and Griefwatch (Battleclinic) being what appear the biggest.

Eve-Corporation.co.uk provides a hosting service with lots of options but it appears the only payment method is Eve ISK and the monthly fees seem rather high, especially for the interesting options.  So, it still looks like coding one's own site is the only way to really be sure all the options are possible.

That of course calls into question...How?  For stage one, and mainly a recruiting website, simple static pages are the way to go for me.  Just getting re-familiarized with how these tools work is a hurdle, but a good challenge and learning experience.  In creating the main banner, I think that I've finally learned how to make decent use of Gimp.  My next step is getting up to speed with Komposer for web page authoring.  It's a little similar to Frontpage that I used last almost a decade ago (holy crap, it's been a while).

So here's my banner so far.  I guess it's time to go register my corp before some evil person takes it....BTW, it took me quite some time to get the "I" in "In" correct, and it started with a test server screen capture.

Where are all the Eve Online Corp Resources

I've started this blog after searching and finding little on founding a proper Eve Online corporation or alliance.  Sure the in-game mechanics and some fundamental caveats are documented, but only basic stuff like security organization, etc.  I'd like to know, what are the best forum/website/teamspeak hosts, what are the offline tools people are using.  These are the things anyone serious about starting something strong and lasting needs to know.

So hopefully this blog will answer those questions in the future, and many more.

Now comes the question of anonymity.  Oddly, the question is not whether I want to keep my RL persona anonymous, but whether to keep my game persona(s) hidden.  So which is more real now, RL or New Eden? Well, OK, it's not a serious question, but an interesting one to think about.

The main issue with anonymity is of course security.  If I'm anonymous, I can speak more freely about internal issues, but if my goals of a well run and successful alliance are met, the anonymity wouldn't last.  Of course the advantage of being open is that I can point new and prospective members here....

So this seems to be the premier issue of [Future] CEO Strure's alliance creation blog.  I say future because I'm still working on getting in-game affairs in order to begin the process, and I want to have all the essential tool in place before open the doors.
